We stock the hut with books, board games & gentle lighting, creating a peaceful sanctuary free from distraction. Just a few steps away is the bathroom hut, which houses a spacious hot shower, sink (with fluffy towels & organic Faith in Nature toiletries provided) & mains loo – all private to you. Together, these two huts offer handcrafted comfort & serenity in the heart of nature. Every corner of Jenny Wren exudes thoughtful craftsmanship & love, from the hand-sewn curtains to the vintage touches that tell a story.
This retreat is intentionally off-grid in spirit: there’s no TV (but there is a DAB radio) so you can truly disconnect. (Don’t worry, there are charging points & a small fridge – you have the essentials, just not the noise of modern life.) If you’re seeking an off-grid retreat with added luxury, you’re in luck: we can deliver locally sourced breakfast packs, homemade sourdough & more to your door, so you can savour farm-fresh food without having to leave your cosy haven.

Located in the heart of South Devon, Jenny Wren offers a charming, eco-friendly retreat, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The thoughtfully designed accommodation combines modern comforts with rustic appeal, ensuring an unforgettable stay in a peaceful setting.
Inside, there’s a comfy double bed topped with soft linens & wool blankets, a cute little sofa to snuggle up on & a charming Hobbit wood-burner stove to keep you toasty on cooler nights.

We’ve ensured the space suits one or two people perfectly: it’s equipped with a kitchenette (gas hob, kettle, cookware) so you can prepare simple meals or tea whenever you like. A firepit outside extends your connection to nature in the evenings.

Without Wi-Fi to distract you (by design), you’ll find yourselves talking, laughing & truly connecting –whether that’s with each other or with your own thoughts. Scenic Location and Local Adventures
What truly sets Jenny Wren apart is how it immerses you in
nature. Step outside and you’re greeted by your own little garden & a backdrop of rolling hills & woodland. In the mornings, you might catch sight of rabbits or deer outside or in the fields
beyond & in the evenings, the lack of light pollution means stars sparkle brightly overhead.
A short, private stroll through the trees from your hut leads you to the most romantic woodland hot tub, completely hidden from the rest of the world. Nestled in a leafy glade, this wood-fired hot tub is exclusively yours to use – we heat it up and have it ready so you can enjoy a steaming soak surrounded by nature. It’s pure
magic: sunlight filters through the branches by day, and by night you can soak with lantern light & feel utterly at peace under the night sky.
Many guests tell us the hot tub was a highlight of their stay – in fact, “even though it’s a stone’s throw from the shepherd’s hut, the way it has been landscaped makes you feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere”, said one.
Beyond our land, there’s plenty of Devon to explore. Jenny Wren is located near the edge of Dartmoor National Park & a short drive from the South Devon coast, so you can easily venture out for scenic hikes, beach walks, or visits to quaint towns like Totnes.
We provide walking maps & Guidebooks & are happy to recommend the best countryside walks near our retreat, from a gentle stroll through bluebell woods to a brisk hike up a tor for panoramic views.
If you’re a fan of wildlife, keep your eyes and ears open – our area is rich with birdlife (the hut’s namesake, the little wren, might even pay you a visit!).
